"My Songs"

The Inspiration behind "My Song for Taylor Swift"

I was inspired to write the song while sitting in the front row of Taylor’s "Speak Now" concert. As I was there experiencing this amazing show, I was thinking that it would be really cool to write a song for Taylor, to let her know how much I appreciate her music and who she is. I really admire how she does what’s right. I began to think about how Taylor was bullied in middle school. I couldn’t believe that people could be so mean, especially to Taylor. Since I was working on helping to stop bullying as a national spokesperson for an anti-bullying organization ( a4kclub.org ), I wanted to write a song that honors Taylor, and empowers kids to stand up and stop bullying.

Inspiration behind the Music Video

I got such positive feedback from kids who heard the song. They said things like:

"I am not going to be a victim anymore."
"I am going to speak up the next time I see someone being bullied."

The song empowers kids to speak up in the face of bullying, and the video brings the song to life. I wanted the video to motivate and encourage kids to take appropriate actions when they see bullying. It’s about doing what’s right!

I am so lucky to be working with a number of amazing people. See who all made this possible...

My Song for Taylor Swift

By Jolie Montlick

My favorite artist is Taylor Swift and I am her biggest fan I was excited for months waiting to go to her concert I sat in the center, in the front row, it didn't seem real it was so amazing

I want to be the girl who sits with Taylor Swift I want to be the girl who she can have lunch with I want to be the girl who didn't walk away Who teaches with her smile the world will be ok.

I couldn't believe how close I was to my idol- I could almost touch her. I yelled out her name, and she brought tears to my eyes… yeah, tears to my eyes. She loves her fans, and sings from her heart.. yeah from her heart Her music makes me smile, touches my heart yeah, and brightens my day… brightens my day…Yeah

I want to be the girl who sits with Taylor Swift I want to be the girl who she can have lunch with I want to be the girl who didn't walk away Who teaches with her smile the world will be ok.

I once heard Taylor talk about how she was bullied in middle school And how when she sat down at lunch, kids got up and walked away. It 's hard to imagine how a person as cool as Taylor could ever have been a victim of bullying. But it can happen to anyone.

It can happen to anyone. People can be so mean. A few kids are the bullies, some get bullied, but most kids just stand by idly, It is wrong to stand by and watch and do nothing We have to use our voices to speak out, to stop the bullying... stop the bullying.

I want to be the girl who sits with Taylor Swift I want to be the girl who she can have lunch with I want to be the girl who didn't walk away Who teaches with her smile the world will be ok.

So here I am watching her amazing show, and I close my eyes and here we go, and I am meeting Taylor backstage. She gives me a hug and we talk. I really have the best seat in the house. And then she brings me on stage, and we sing this song.

I want to be the girl who sings with Taylor Swift I want to be the girl who she can speak out with I want to be the girl who didn't walk away Who teaches with her smile the world will be ok.

I want to be the girl who sings with Taylor Swift I want to be the girl who she can speak out with I want to be the girl who didn't walk away Who teaches with her smile the world will be ok.
